World Environment Day

The World Environment Day or Earth Day is a day of action, which is celebrated on June 5.

On June 5, 1972, the opening day of the first World Environment Summit in Stockholm, the World Environment Day was officially proclaimed by the United Nations Environment Programme ( United Nations Environment Programme ). Since then, approximately 150 countries worldwide taking part in this annual World Environment Day ( WED ). Since 1976, the World Environment Day is celebrated every year in Germany.

On the occasion of World Environment Day is held annually on the first Sunday in June, the bike rally of the ADFC Berlin eV.

To 5 June 2009, the documentary Home was released simultaneously worldwide in the cinema, on DVD, on television and on the Internet.
