World Tag Team Championship

The World Tag Team Championship ( to German World Team Championship ) is the highest title that can be won in tag team wrestling. Here, the wrestler in teams of two compete against each other.

For the first time he was awarded in 1950 in San Francisco. However, already appeared in 1953 (Chicago and Indianapolis ) and 1954 (Georgia ) more tag team titles on. There are currently seven leagues who claim to lead the true World Tag Team title.

World Tag Team Championship (WWE Version)

The most realistic this claim is probably at World Wrestling Entertainment. The local title was introduced in 1971 as the World Wide Wrestling Federation Tag Team Title. In 1979, the League was renamed to World Wrestling Federation, and the "Wide " in the title fell away. 1983 left the league and evaluated the NWA World Title for the title then on.

NWA World Tag Team Championship

After the various regional promotions which led World Tag Team Championship had been partially paid and had to leave part way the federation, a single World led the NWA 1995 Tag Team Championship one. This was first obtained from the Rock'n'Roll Express in a tournament. Between 2002 and 2007 the title was almost exclusively defended in TNA.

TNA World Tag Team Championship

TNA Wrestling was between 2002 and 2007, the biggest promotion in the NWA Association. After the separation of the NWA TNA World Tag Team Title a was created and made tag team title in the tradition of the NWA, which was defended in TNA so far.

World Tag Team Championship ( All Japan Version)

This title is located at All Japan Pro Wrestling. It was created in 1988 from the PWF World Teag Team Championship and the NWA International Tag Team Championship. He was held by such renowned teams like Stan Hansen & Ted DiBiase, Toshiaki Kawada & Akira Taue or Terry Gordy & Steve Williams.

WWA World Tag Team Championship

The WWA is a Mexican league. The title was introduced in 1991, was vacant between 1997 and 2003 and has since fought back. He was the first title of the later WWE Superstar Chris Jericho won. He defeated on 21 July 1993 under the name Corazon de Leon ( Lionheart ) on the side of Silver King & El Dandy Texano.

CMLL World Tag Team Championship

Although the CMLL or emll was founded in 1933, the World Tag Team Championship was introduced in 1991. He is considered the most important tag team titles in Mexico

ROH World Tag Team Championship

WCW World Tag Team Championship
