World Wrestling Council

World Wrestling Council, WWC short, is the name of a Puerto Rican wrestling promotion. Promoters are Carlos Colón, Sr. and Victor Jovica.

WWC has a weekly TV format that is broadcast by the station WAPA - TV.

History

The history of the promotion begins in 1973, when the wrestler Carlos Colon and Victor Jovica return to Puerto Rico.

Establishment of the CSP as WWWF Affiliate

Both had been working for the US-based promotion NWA Capitol Wrestling since long already and so they put the banner Capitol Sports Promotions (CSP ) on. This was an affiliate of the World Wide Wrestling Federation and its parent company, Capitol Wrestling Corporation.

Accession to the National Wrestling Alliance

The CSP was now a development of the WWWF territory and so was Gorilla Monsoon, one of the officers of the WWWF, registered as co-owners. In the same year CSP was an associated promotion of the National Wrestling Alliance under the banner NWA Puerto Rico.

Collaboration with the World Wrestling Federation

In the 1980s, CSP was a career springboard for future top stars of the World Wrestling Federation. So Bret Hart was for a time worked for this promotion when he left his father's promotion in the direction of the WWF and in this decade, Monsoon withdrew from the CSP.

Re - organizing in "World Wrestling Council " and the collaboration with World Wrestling Entertainment

1995 CSP was reorganized in World Wrestling Council and the WWC left the NWA. As of 1999 the promotion began to compete for IWA Puerto Rico.

The good connections to the promotion World Wrestling Entertainment still exist today. How come the WWE superstars Carlito and Primo WWC and meet regularly with other WWE stars on there.

The former WWF superstar Scott Hall was for a time obliged at WWC and was prepared from the latter to its possible wrestling comeback.
