Wormrot

Wormrot is a grindcore band from Singapore.

History

Singer Arif and guitarist Rasyid first met in high school. After Rasyid had finished his military service, they jammed together in a Death Grind project, but decided a little later to start their own grindcore band called Wormrot. As a drummer Fitri was obliged to Arif knew from military service. 2007, the group recorded their first demo in 2008 was followed by the second demo Bastardphobic. A little later the recordings for the debut album Abuse in order of appearance singaporean independent label Scrotum Jus Records began in 2009. The piece Born Stupid of this album came on a download sampler of the online magazine Invisible Oranges. This could hear Digby Pearson, owner of the British label Earache Records. Pearson then took the end of 2009, beginning of 2010 through the label contact with the band and took them under contract. First published by Earache Records re-release of the 2009 album, which until then only in Singapore was available. This was followed by tours of the U.S. and Europe. In summer 2011, the second album Dirge appeared. After the European tour in the summer of 2012 Wormrot announced to pause due to personal commitments, the next studio album was to be expected no earlier than 2013 or 2014.
