Worst Week is an American sitcom that aired from 22 September 2008 to June 6th, 2009 on CBS. The series is based on the British sitcom The Worst Week of My Life.

Action

The series revolves around Sam Briggs, who tends to attract trouble, it always happen accidents. Especially lately he seems to be not just pursued by happiness. He is in love with Melanie Clayton, but not yet married to her; the two are expecting a child. To tell this message Melanie's parents Angela and Dick, is just one of the many dilemmas that they face in the earlier episodes.

Production

Originally, the series was adapted in 2005 for American television by Fox under the title Worst Week of My Life. A series order failed after the pilot episode was filmed.

On 20 May 2009 CBS announced the cancellation of the series.

Broadcast

The series was on CBS on Mondays at 21:30 clock, to Two and a Half Men aired. The premiere attracted a total of 11 million viewers, but lost a third of its lead -in. The range coincided with the sixth episode from a low of 8.4 million viewers, but then began again to rise steadily. It reached a series high of 12.12 million viewers with the eleventh episode, but declined thereafter. The series finale entitled The epidural was broadcast on 16 February 2009. A previously unausgestrahlte episode titled The Party was shown later on June 6, 2009.

International series in Ireland on RTÉ Two, Portugal on Fox Life in Italy and was shown on Rai 2.

Germany

In Germany, the series is broadcast every Sunday on Sat.1 since 2 January 2011. Since March 13, they can always be seen in the night from Sunday to Monday against a clock.

Odds

Worst Week is Sunday evening after the U.S. series slightly below the level of Cougar Town, the series was previously broadcast on the same time slot. The first episode was 7.3 % market share in the 14-49 year old, the second 6.5%. The third episode, she fell to just 4.6% market share in the " target demographic ".
