WowWee

WowWee is a manufacturer of toy robots from Hong Kong, founded in 1982 by Richard and Peter Yanofsky as a research company. Produced as Original Equipment Manufacturer WowWee first several toys such as Power Rangers figures. WowWee was known primarily for the Robosapien toy robot, which came in 2004 on the market, and for which was awarded in the same year, the Toy of the Year Award. WowWee is considered a leader in the field of hi-tech toy robot.

The Robosapien over one million sold in the past followed the Robosapien V2 ( 2005), Roboreptile (2006), and Roboquad (2007). 2007 brought WowWee FlyTech Dragonfly on the market, a remote-controlled ornithopter. Dragonfly Award from the American Time magazine as one of the inventions of the year and led to many other flying toys. The successor FlyTech Blade Star is the first flying toy robot with sensor-based navigation.

2007 produced worldwide WowWee toys for McDonald's Happy Meal. For 2009, WowWee has announced a partnership with Evolution robotics, to jointly develop new toy robot and to bring to the market.
