Writing implement

Pens are used to writing, the application of characters on a surface. Depending on the manner of use pens can also be used more or less good for drawing and painting.

Old Pens

The appearance of writing instruments is closely on which they recorded with the shape of the font, the substrate and connected to the cultural sense of aesthetics.

To write with cuneiform writing on clay tablets, the Babylonians used a stylus with a triangular tip with which they expressed the characters in soft clay. They are made of wood surrounding a mine which first consisted of lead and silver alloys and later of graphite.

Almost everything that leaves a trail or a bar can be used as a writing instrument, for example, crayons and pastels. You can also carve into rocks, although you can not call to help you write the needed equipment for this purpose.

Lead pencils

Lead pencils are usually of a long thin rod writable material which is held by a coat or jacket.

Spring pins

Spring pins are pins that transmit with a pen tip as the writing medium (ink or ink ) to a receiving surface ( the writing material).

The first fountain pens date from the early 18th century, but were not developed until the 19th century detail. A robust variant is the Tintenkuli.

Ball pen

An invention of the 20th century is the ballpoint pen by László József Bíró.
