Wüstenrot-Gruppe
Wüstenrot is an international group of companies in the financial services sector and maintains its headquarters in Salzburg, Austria. The Group's main businesses are the Wüstenrot housing industry, Wüstenrot insurance AG and Wüstenrot AG. Since 1993, the Wüstenrot Group operates a continuous development of foreign building societies in East Central Europe.
Company History
The history of the building society being in the German language area dates back to the foundation of the building society for everyone in Bielefeld in 1885. The idea of continental building savings in its modern form was developed but only at the beginning of the 1920s by Georg Kropp and led to the establishment of the Community Building Society of Friends Wüstenrot in the small Swabian town Wüstenrot near Heilbronn.
The distribution of building-society concept in Austria came from Salzburg. In the course of a lecture by Siegfried Gmelin on November 30, 1925 in Salzburg, these ideas were also common in Austria. In the same year, Dr. Gmelin as the Bank of the community of friends Wüstenrot the first until 1997 or cooperative building society in Austria. Wüstenrot housing industry is a registered cooperative society with limited liability which is supported by the private foundation of the community of friends Wüstenrot. The company shares amounted to € 18.5 million A private foundation holds 34,000 shares in the cooperative, 4000 shares are held by two large cooperatives, and the remaining shares are distributed to 2.4 million individual cooperative members.
Corporate purpose Wüstenrot housing industry is the promotion of the members. Wüstenrot AG
The Wüstenrot founded as a cooperative and was converted into the company as a limited company in 1997. The Board is composed of gene. Director Susanne Riess- Passer, Franz My guest and Andreas Grünbichler together. Since its inception, the Wüstenrot building society funded approximately 1.5 million homes in all of Austria. The company currently has around 1.6 million customers and employs about 1,140 mostly salaried and some freelancers.
In 2005, the headquarters of Austria Wüstenrot in Salzburg by the group of architects Trauner Strobl Bach architect was renovated for the anniversary of 80 years of existence and redesigned.
Wüstenrot insurance AG
Founded in November 1976 as a subsidiary of Wüstenrot, Wüstenrot insurance AG is a large general insurer today. The product range includes life insurance, or areas where motor insurance, household and homeowner insurance, legal expenses insurance, liability insurance and business insurance, accident insurance and private health insurance.
