Wykosowo

Wykosowo ( German Vixow, Kashubian Wëkòsewò or Wëkòsowò ) is a village in the municipality Główczyce in powiat Słupski ( Stolp ) of the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

Wykosowo located in Pomerania, about 33 kilometers northeast of the city of Slupsk ( Stolp ) and four kilometers east of the church village Główczyce ( Glowitz ).

History

Wykosowo is mentioned in a document from 1315 in which the Brandenburg Margrave Waldemar the Casimir Swenzo from the noble Swenzonen the possession of the village as a fief Vixow confirmed. Later Vixow came to Stojentin family. 1523 hans Stoientin to Vixsowe called. After Vixow was divided in the 18th century into four parts, which changed hands several times, succeeded Michael Sigismund of Stojentin to unite all four parts in one hand. Towards the end of World War II occupied on March 9, 1945, the Red Army without a fight the village, the inhabitants had previously fled, but returned on March 11. On March 13, 1945, a larger Soviet troops quartered in Vixow and dismantled the dairy and the distillery. The village stood until 1946 under the administration of a Soviet commander. After that, a Polish administration was established. Vixow was renamed Wykosowo. The houses and farms were taken over by Poland and expelled the German villagers.

The village is now initially powiat Słupski the Pomeranian Voivodeship ( to 1998 Voivodeship Stolp ) become. Here now live about 250 inhabitants.

Church

The villagers before 1945 in Vixow present were Protestant. Vixow belonged to the parish Glowitz and thus to the church Stolp -Altstadt.

School

The existing in Vixow before 1945 elementary school was a single stage. In 1932 there taught a single teacher 61 school children.
