Wyndham's Theatre

The Wyndham 's Theatre is one of two theaters that was built for the actor - manager Charles Wyndham ( the second is the New Theatre ). It is located in London's West End, Charing Cross Road, and was designed by architect WGR Sprague designed. It offers three tiers accommodate 759 spectators ( with an additional 41 standing room ). On 16 November 1899, was attended by the Prince of Wales with TW Robertson's David Garrick piece opens. The theater was built back to back with the Albery Theatre and is connected by a bridge with this. The construction was funded by a patron and by loans from Wyndhams friends.

Today, the theater of the Ambassador Theatre Group is operated and used mostly for theater and musical theater performances. Several world premieres of well-known pieces were held here, such as Peter Ustinov's The Love of Four Colonels on May 23, 1951 Sandy Wilson's The Boy Friend, 1954, which was performed a total of 2078 times, Simon Gray Wise Child on October 10, 1967 Arthur Miller's The Ride Down Mount Morgan on 23 October 1991, and finally Yasmina Reza's comedy style, 1996, which was shown over 1500 times.

From September 26 to December 17, 2011, the piece of Driving Miss Daisy with James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave was performed in the leading roles.
