Xiao Hailiang

Xiao Hailiang (Chinese肖海亮, Pinyin Xiao Hǎiliàng, born January 24, 1977 in Wuhan) is a former Chinese diver. He first started in diving and later in the 3- m- art and synchronized diving. In two participations in the Olympic Games, he won a gold and a bronze medal.

Xiao Hailiang began at the age of five years with the water jump. At age nine, he attended a special school sports, where he achieved international class under professional conditions. In 1994, he finally won his first medal in his first major international championship. At the Asian Games in Hiroshima, he won the 10 m tower silver. Two years later, Xiao Hailiang took part in the Atlanta Olympic games from the 10 - m tower and won the bronze medal. Four years later he started again at the Olympics. In Sydney he started but this time from the 3 -meter board and Xiong Ni in the newly introduced 3 -meter synchronized diving. In individual he missed a fourth medal scarce, but gained in synchronized competition sovereign gold medal. After the Games, Xiao Hailiang ended his active career.
