The Yamaguchi University (Japanese山口 大学, Yamaguchi daigaku, in short: Yamadai (山大) ) is a state university in Japan. The main campus is located in Yamaguchi in Yamaguchi Prefecture.

History

The origin of the university was the private school Yamaguchi Kodo (山口 讲堂, dt " the auditorium Yamaguchi " ), the 1815 Hoyo Ueda (上 田 凤阳, 1769-1853 ) was founded. It was in 1863 a Han school of Chōshū and named in Yamaguchi Meirinkan (山口 明伦 馆) to. In 1870 it became the prefectural high school Yamaguchi and 1886 then to the state Higher Secondary School Yamaguchi, the school with one of the then seven preparatory courses for the Imperial University. In 1894 it was renamed the high school Yamaguchi (山口 高等学校, Yamaguchi Kōtō Gakko ).

In February 1905, they became the commercial college Yamaguchi (山口 高等 商业 学校, Yamaguchi Kōtō shōgyō Gakko ) changed, the third state commercial college ( or trade college, jap Kōtō shōgyō Gakko ) to Tokyo (1887 ) and Kobe (1902 ). Student song

The School of Economics has one of the oldest Japanese student songs, the (花 なき 山, GV " The hill without flowers " ) is called Hana naki yama. 1899 composed of Professor Masakazu Sassa (佐 々 政 一, pseudonym :佐 々 醒 雪, Sassa Seisetsu, 1872-1917 ) the song for the students of the high school Yamaguchi. The song was inherited from the commercial college Yamaguchi ( the predecessor of the Faculty of Economics ).
