Yamamoto (crater)

760

Yamamoto is an impact crater in the northern hemisphere of the side of the moon and therefore can not be observed directly from Earth. It is located south-southwest of the crater Avogadro, to the east of the crater Tikhov followed. To the south is the large crater D' Alembert.

Like many other craters of the moon back is heavily scarred by Yamamoto strikes. The rim is covered in several places by younger impact craters, and almost completely wiped out in the northeastern part. The crater floor is in the northeastern region of relatively flat and without distinguishing marks, while the southwestern part the other hand, is much more uneven. This difference is probably due to ejection of material from a surrounding crater.
