Yambio (Arabic يامبيو Yāmbiyū; alternative spelling Yambiyo ) is the capital of the state of Western Equatoria ( Western Equatoria ) in southern Sudan.

The city lies near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo near the source of the Sue, the source of the river Bahr el Ghazal.

Yambio has 31 586 inhabitants (calculated 2009). These are mainly Azande.
