Yang Xiong (author)

Yang Xiong (扬雄, Yáng Xiong, Yang Hsiung, * 53 BC; † 18 AD) was a Chinese philosopher and poet, who was next to Sima Xiangru and Jia Yi one of the most important poets of the Han period, the written at the court of Emperor Fu.

By 20 BC, he was appointed to the imperial court and wrote poetry there, especially jewelry rich Fu that dealt with the important acts of the emperor as victims and hunting. However, in his later life he refused Fu system as a means to influence the ruler and called them childish style exercises.

Besides Fu also received some philosophical and philological writings of Yang Xiong.
