Yannick Nézet-Séguin

Yannick Nézet -Séguin ( born March 6, 1975 in Montreal ) is a Canadian conductor.

Nézet -Séguin began in 1995 to study at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in piano, composition and conducting. In parallel, he was at Westminster Choir College in Princeton student of Joseph Flummerfelt and Hermann Max Since 2000 he has been Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Orchestre Métropolitain Canadian. After first guest appearances at Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra in 2005 and 2006, he was appointed chief conductor there. In March 2007, he first worked together with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and from 2008 was elected its first guest conductor. Other known orchestras, such as The Berliner Philharmoniker have already been conducted by Nézet -Séguin.

Since the season 2010/2011 Nézet -Séguin is designated music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra. From 2012 he will be the only music director of the orchestra.
