Yanta District

The municipality Yanta (雁塔 区, Yàntǎ Qū ) is a municipality of the province city of Xi'an in China's Shaanxi Province. It has an area of 152 square kilometers and has about 610,000 inhabitants. The municipality Yanta (literally: "Wild Goose Pagoda " ) takes its name from the famous Big Wild Goose Pagoda (大 雁塔Chinese, Pinyin Dayan tǎ ), which is an important Buddhist center.
