Yardymli District
Yardimli is a rayon in the south of Azerbaijan. The capital of the district is the city Yardimli. The district is bounded on the west by Iran.
Geography
The district has an area of 667 km ². The landscape is part of the Talysh Mountains.
Population
In Rayon lived 2009 57.900 people. These are spread over 87 settlements.
Economy
The region is dominated by agriculture. It is vegetables, tobacco, potatoes and cereals grown and bred sheep. Previously, especially wine was grown. Today, the cultivation and processing of tobacco in the cigarette making factories of the major economic sector.
Culture
In the village Alar there are a number of old towers.
