Yared Asmerom

Yared Asmerom ( born February 4, 1980 in Asmara ) is an Eritrean marathon runners.

In 2004, he won the San Sebastián - marathon and was 2:16:45 h with the first Eritreans, who remained under 2:20. At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005, he came in 2:18:46 on the 25th place. In the same year he finished ninth in the World Half Marathon Championships in Edmonton.

At the Hamburg Marathon, he finished 2006 13th in 2:15:36 and 2007, the 16th in 2:15:14; the times were each more national records.

When heat Marathon World Championships in Osaka, he caused a surprise when he finished fourth in 2:17:41.

In 2008 he was second in the Lake Biwa Marathon with a personal best time of 2:08:34. In a marathon, the Olympic Games in Beijing, he stayed first with his compatriot Yonas Kifle, who replaced him as national record holder in the top group, then let himself fall back but something. While Kifle on the last kilometers completely broke, Asmerom be claimed and was eighth in 2:11:11.
