Yaron Herman

Yaron Herman ( born July 12, 1981 in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli, living in France jazz pianist.

Life and work

Herman began at sixteen to play the piano and had lessons with the jazz musician Opher Brayer. Two years later he won the Young Investigator Award of the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. At the beginning of his musical career he has performed at various venues in Tel Aviv. At age 19, he went to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music, but left it soon and continued his studies in Paris continued. At age 21, he put in a duo with drummer Sylvain Ghio before a first album ( Takes 2 to Know 1) for the label Sketch. Because he developed a theory of musical improvisation ("Realtime Composition" ), he was invited as a lecturer for a series of lectures at the Sorbonne. In 2006, he played solo concerts in Europe, South America, the U.S. and China; He also appeared with the led by Raphael Imbert Newtopia project on (Suite Elegiaque ).

In 2007, Herman his own trio in which the bassist Matt Brewer and the drummer Gerald Cleaver play. Since 2009 he is touring with Michel Portal; Yaron Herman played, among others, in 2007 and 2008 ( in 2008 the opening concert ) at the Tübingen jazz and classical days and 2010 at the jazz festival Villingen -Schwenningen. Yaron Herman lives in Paris.

Awards

2007 Yaron was elected administration of the Droits des Artistes Musiciens et Interpreters for jazz talent of the French copyright organization, emerged the following year as instrumentalists - discovery of the year of the Victoires du Jazz.
