Yegor Stroyev

Yegor Stroyev Semenovich (Russian Егор Семёнович Строев; born February 25, 1937 in Dudkino, Oryol Oblast ) is a Russian politician.

Work

After a career in the party in Oryol Stroyev 1986 was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union ( CPSU ). From 1989 to 1991 he was a member of the Secretariat of the CPSU Central Committee and responsible for agricultural policy. At the same time he was a member of the Politburo of the Party since 1990. After the banning of the CPSU in 1991 Stroyev was two years as director of the Russian Institute for Selection and breeding of fruit crops in Oryol.

His return to politics began in 1993, initially in the post of head of administration of Oryol Oblast and in 1996, after the Oblast was transformed into a federal subject, as their governor. On this post Stroyev was re-elected in 1997 and 2001, and confirmed on April 23, 2005, after the change of the appeal procedure of Governors, as proposed by the then Russian President Vladimir Putin of the Orjoler Representative Assembly unanimously re-elected.

In January 1996 Stroyev was elected chairman of the Russian Federation Council; after the reform of the Council in 2001, he was succeeded in his post by Sergei Mironov, but at the same time appointed honorary chairman of this chamber. Since 26 November 2005, he is member of the United Russia party.

On 16 February 2009 Stroyev was relieved at his own request by Russian President Medvedev of his official duties as governor and elected on the proposal of his successor in the office of Governor, Alexander Kozlov, as representatives of the executive branch of the Oryol Oblast on 14 March in the Federation Council. Stroyev thus replaced from his daughter Marina Georgievna Rogatschowa, who held this post from 26 May 2004 until 16 February 2009.
