Yehuda Avner

Yehuda Avner ( born in 1928 in Manchester, England) is an Israeli diplomat.

Avner was born in 1928 in Manchester. He emigrated in 1947 in the British Mandate of Palestine. He was one of the founding members of Kibbutz Lavi in the Galilee. In the late 1950s he joined the Israeli Foreign Service. During his diplomatic career Avner was, among other consul in New York City, 1983-1988 Ambassador to the United Kingdom, with concurrent accreditation in Ireland, and from 1992 to 1995 Ambassador to Australia.

Yehuda Avner 1995, the Chair was established for religious and political science at Bar- Ilan University. Avner is also active as a guest columnist for The Jerusalem Post.
