Yellow-shouldered Amazon (Amazona barbadensis )
The Yellow-shouldered Amazon (Amazona barbadensis ) is a species of parrot from the subfamily of Neuweltpapageien. The ground color of the plumage of this 33 inches tall and about 340 grams expectant Amazonenart is green, the feathers are edged in black. From the green body plumage in particular differs from the head feathers. The forehead and the front vertex are white, while the head part around the eyes, the rear crown and chin are yellow. The range of the Yellow-shouldered Amazon is limited to two small areas on the coast in northern Venezuela and on the islands of Bonaire, Guadalhorce and Margarita. She lives here dry coastal areas with low vegetation, dominate in the cacti. It is a typical food generalist and eats fruits, seeds, and flowers of a large number of food plants, including the fruit of cacti. She eats next to the grown on agricultural land avocado, mango and corn.
