Yi Guan Dao

The term "Yi Guan Dao " or "I Kuan Tao " is derived from the Chinese language. "Yi " or " I" means "one", " Guan " or " Kuan " means " connect " and "Tao " symbolizes the origin of all being and literally means, among other things "the way". In this sense, "Yi Guan Dao " or "I Kuan Tao " could be translated as " The Way, which connects all in one ".

Meaning of " Yi Guan Dao " or " I Kuan Tao? "

In Taoist masterpiece Tao Te King ( Dao De Jing ) over the primordial being and the power, it says:

"There is One, not distinguished, but perfect. This one is there before heaven and earth. What peace and quiet! In itself fulfilled - immutable - circling forever, through space and time, but never grasped. The mother of the wide universe may be it probably. We do not know his name, Tao is our sign. "

In this sense, I Kuan Tao means that one thing that was there before anything was created. It is the mother of all existence of which we are born, and is therefore the source of life. About the Tao of the property can be found in the main work of Zen Buddhism, the Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch, :

" Enlightenment and delusion, the common man they considered to be two things. A wise man but considers this without differentiation. The undifferentiated sense, is the true meaning. This is not decreased in the blinded but not more frequently at the wise. He is not confused with chaos and not silent at rest. It does not break down, but is not continuous. He does not come, and also does not work. It is not in the center, but not in the outside or inside. He is not born and will not die. He is everlasting and does not walk. We call it the Tao. "

According to these characteristics I Kuan Tao conveys that one thing that is everlasting and does not walk. We used it every day, but without being aware. In Confucian main work Lun Yu - The Analects of Confucius says: " In the morning hear the Tao and the evening going to die: that's not bad. " Thus Confucius pointed well to the importance of the Tao for the people. This meaning is also to be seen in another of his phrases: "Who can out already, without having to go through the gate; then why not through the Tao? " Herein, the master indicates that the Tao is that way, should any of us go. At another point in the book he said to his disciples: " My Tao combines all in one. " From this sentence is the word " I Kuan Tao " ( "The path that connects all in one ").
