Yin Mountains

The Yinshan Mountains, Yinshan or Yin Shan (阴山, Yin Shan or阴山 山脉, Yinshan shanmai ) is a 1200 km long extending in the east-west towards the mountains in the middle of the plateau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Inner Mongolia in the north Hebei Province in the People's Republic of China.

It is in the west of the Langshan Mountains狼山and the Wula Mountains乌拉 山, in the middle of the Daqing Mountains大 青山and Huitengliang Mountains灰 腾 梁山, in the south of the Liangcheng Mountains凉城 山and Huashan Mountains 桦 山and to the east from the Damaqun Mountains大马 群山. To its north lies the plateau of Inner Mongolia, in the south of the narrow, fertile Hetao plane.

The mountain range forms the watershed between the rivers into the sea opens out and the endorheic area. In the Qin and Han period a part of the Great Wall along the Yinshan Mountains was built.

The rock art of the Yinshan Mountains ( Shan Yin Yanhua ) in the Middle urad banners and other fields are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 6-818 ) since 2006.
