Yobert K. Shamapande

Yobert Shamapande (* 1948) is a politician in Zambia.

He is chairman of the Zambian National Party Leadership for Development, PhD, married, has six children and lives in the USA. He worked until the end of 2000 for the Information Service of the United Nations: the UNIC Pretoria. After that, he was an assistant professor at Columbia University. It was shown in the U.S., that he had a domestic worker paid less than one-eighth of the minimum wage in 2001.

In the election in Zambia in 2006, he joined as a very eloquent presidential candidate. But how Inonge Mbikusita - Lewanika he failed because he lacked any political base. The election result of 0.53 percent just shows how high his international experience for Zambia is valued.
