Yocheved Bat-Miriam

Jocheved Bat- Miriam (Hebrew יוכבד בת - מרים; * 1901, † 1980) was a Russian-born Israeli poet.

Jocheved Bat- Miriam studied at the universities of Odessa and Moscow. In 1926 she emigrated to Israel, and in 1929 she published her first volume of poetry. After her son was killed in Israel's 1948 War of Independence, they never wrote more poems.

In her poems Bat- Miriam processed their experiences during her childhood in Russia and its existence as an immigrant in Israel. In total, she published seven books of poetry.
