Øystein Sevåg

Øystein Sevag ( born March 19, 1957 in Bærum, Akershus ) is a Norwegian New Age musician.

Sevag had from the age of five piano lessons. He played as a young bass in a rock band, but then studied at the Conservatory of Oslo classical piano, flute and composition. In the 1980s he discovered the possibilities of electroacoustic music and published in 1989 after five years of studio work, the album Close Your Eyes and See that came immediately in the Billboard charts for New Age music.

After further albums Sevag worked from 1999 to 2005 with his wife Maria Sevag and the psychologist Catherine Martin in the field of music therapy. In 2006 he returned to Oslo, where in the following year, the solo album Based on a True Story appeared. As a producer, he published the debut albums of the singer-songwriter Eliksir ( Earthly Thing, 2005) and Benedicte Torget (After a Day of Rain, 2008).
