Recurvifolia Yucca is a plant of the genus yucca (Yucca ) in the family of asparagus plants ( Asparagaceae ).
Description
The stem -forming, bushy and group- forming species reaches a height 1-3 meters. In contrast to Yucca gloriosa the leaves are wider and the bottom is rough. The leaves are smooth-edged, and slightly serrated, green to gray- green, 0.6 to 1 m long and 2 to 3.5 cm wide.
The beginning between the leaves branched inflorescence reaches a height of 1 to 1.5 meters and extends over the leaves out. The flowering season falls in the spring as opposed to Yucca gloriosa, flowers in autumn. In Europe, there are numerous different forms of culture, which make it difficult to classification. Recurvifolia Yucca is hardy.
Dissemination
The home of the Yucca recurvifolia is located in the coastal regions of the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico into the southeastern U.S. in the U.S. states of Alabama (south), Florida ( North), Georgia (south), Louisiana ( southeast), and Mississippi (south).
System
The valid description Yucca recurvifolia was of Salisbury 1806. Yucca gloriosa var synonyms are recurvifolia Engelm. (1873 ) and Yucca recurvifolia elegans Trel. (1902 ).
