Yukio Sakano

Yukio Sakano (Japanese坂 野 幸 夫, Sakano Yukio, born February 3, 1976 in Yonezawa, Yamagata Prefecture) is a Japanese ski jumper.

Career

Sakano was started in 1997 at the age of 20 years in the Japanese national team and was launched on January 18, 1997 for the first time in a World Cup competition. When jumping in Sapporo, Japan, however, he could only reach the 40th place on the normal hill. After two more unsuccessful jumping he was removed out of the A-National squad and started the Continental Cup and FIS races. Only when jumping in Japan in Sapporo or Hakuba he started as part of the National Group in World Cup competition.

His best result at a World Cup competition reached Sakano with an 11th place on the large hill while jumping on 21 January 2006 at the Okurayama -Hill in Sapporo. At the end of the World Cup season 2005/ 06 he scored the 44th, the best finish of his career in the World Cup.

His most last World Cup competitions, he played as a participant in the National Group on January 31, 2009 in Sapporo.
