Yury Dombrovsky

Yuri Ossipowitsch Dombrowski (Russian Юрий Осипович Домбровский; * 1909, † May 29, 1978 in Moscow) was a Soviet writer.

During Stalin's reign, he was repeatedly arrested and sent into exile. In 1956 he was rehabilitated. Dombrowski is the author of the novels The Keeper of Antiquities and The Faculty of useless things, this novel first appeared in 1978 in France, prompting Dombrowski was beaten up in the street and died from the effects of politically motivated attack. 1989 and 1990 appeared the novel in the Soviet Union at various publishing houses in a circulation of 900,000 copies.
