Yves Vanderhaeghe

Yves Vanderhaeghe ( born January 30, 1970 in Roeselare ) is a former Belgian football player.

Life

Vanderhaeghe played in youth at KFC Roeselare. In 1986 he moved to Cercle Brugge, but could not prevail and there was only one game in the Jupiler League. Therefore, in 1988 he returned back to KFC Roeselare, for which he regularly ran aground in the third division. In 1992 he moved to the second division for Excelsior Mouscron.

In 1994, Vanderhaeghe to Eendracht Aalst, who had just ascended to the first division. Here he was a regular player at first. In January 1998 he returned to Excelsior Mouscron, which now also played in the first division. In 2000, he was with the club in the final of the Belgian League Cup, which was, however, lost in a penalty shootout against RSC Anderlecht.

In spring 2001, Vanderhaeghe Excelsior left and joined the RSC Anderlecht. With the club he was three times Belgian champion. In autumn 2006, proclaimed by the club that he no longer plan with him and that he could be looking for a new club. He then received offers of his old clubs and Vanderhaeghe returned to his youth club KSV Roeselare. He finished his career there in June 2008.

Between 1999 and 2005, Vanderhaeghe was Belgian national team. In 48 international matches he scored two goals. He belonged to the squad at the 2002 World Cup.
