Zabol (Persian زابل ) is a city in the province of Sistan and Baluchistan in eastern Iran. It lies on the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan. Near the town is the Hamun Lake. The area irrigated by the Hirmand River.

The inhabitants speak a Zābols the Farsi - Dari Persian language very close variant, which is known as Sistani. The people in Zabol speak the same dialect as the Afghan province of Farah, ie the Persian- Shiite population Farah. See also: Western Afghanistan.

A number of tribes live here, including the Shahraiki, Arbabi, Barani, Srani, Fakhireh and Me. In the city also live some Baluchis, Pashtuns and Brahuis.

Zabol is known for its 120-day wind ( Bād -e sad- o 're Ruz ) known to be a stubborn summer sandstorm that blows from north to south.

The Zabol University is the largest university in the city. The city has a regional airport.

Rostam, the hero of Schāhnāmes of Ferdowsi is considered among the city's population as a hero of Zabol.
