Zacatepec de Hidalgo

Zacatepec de Hidalgo, originally and commonly only Zacatepec, is a small town with only 21,241 inhabitants ( 2005) and an eponymous district with a total of 33 527 inhabitants ( 2005) in the southwest of the Mexican state of Morelos.

The origin of the name

Hence the name Zacatepec is composed of the two words zacatl ( grass or pasture ) and tepetl (mountain ) of the Nahuatl language and means together as much as Grasberg mountain or pasture; a confirmation of the fertility of this region. History
