Zacharzyn

Zacharzyn ( German Zachasberg ) is a village with 690 inhabitants in the municipality Chodzież ( Kolmar ) in Chodzieski powiat in Poland.

Attractions

Among the attractions of the place the former German Evangelical Church Uniate heard from the year 1877. Zacharzyn In 1999, in existence since the 19th century village school was converted into a gymnasium.

History

The name Zachasberg goes back to the Laird of Zacha. Around 1780 acquired Christoph von Strelitz Zacha the rule and founded in 1793 the village Zachasberg. The first 15 settlers came primarily from Brandenburg and Swabia. In 1816, 512 people were already living in Zachasberg and the population grew to 841 in 1871. Most residents ( 90 %) were Protestant denomination unierter and German. After the end of World War II they were expelled by the Polish post-war administration.

Characteristic to this day -sustaining system of courts is in the form of a terraced village with a length of about three kilometers. By drainage networks arisen meadows yielding meadows and pastures, so that except peat extraction and cattle breeding. After the opening of the railway line Chodzież - Golandcz in 1908 was the loading of agricultural goods at the nearby train station.
