Zafarullah Khan Jamali

Zafarullah Khan Jamali ( Urdu ظفر اللہ خان جمالی; * January 1, 1944 in Dera Murad Jamali in Balochistan ) is a Pakistani politician.

He comes from the influential Jamali family who played a role already in the Pakistani independence struggle. He studied history at the Government College in Lahore, where he took the Magisterpüfung from. In 1970, he joined the Pakistan People's Party. In 1977 he was elected to the regional parliament of Balochistan and subsequently appointed Minister of Food, Information and Parliamentary Affairs of Baluchistan.

In the 1980s Zafarullah Khan Jamali was a member of the Pakistani government of General Zia ul Haq, represented the department Information, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. In 1985 he applied unsuccessfully for the post of Prime Minister of Pakistan, was under Prime Minister Mohammad Khan Junejo instead Minister of Water and Energy. He became Prime Minister of Balochistan in 1996.

On 21 November 2002 he was elected Prime Minister of Pakistan. After lengthy debates with President Pervez Musharraf, he joined on 26 June 2004 from his office.

Politically, he is considered to be the middle man. Politically he changed the course of his political career from the Pakistan People's Party (PPP ) for Pakistani - Muslim League (PML ) and from there to the Pakistani Muslim League - Q ( PML -Q).
