Zafer Özgültekin

Zafer Özgültekın ( born March 10, 1975 in Sivas, Turkey ) is a former Turkish goalkeeper. His biggest success experienced Zafer Ozgültekin as the third goalkeeper of the Turkish national football team with third place at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.

Career

Association

His professional career began at İskenderun Demir Celikspor. In 1997 he moved to the then first division Karabükspor. Here he sat the first season on the bench and played the end of the second season was the first goalkeeper. With good services and because of the descent Karabükrspors in the TFF 1 Lig the summer of 1999, Özgültekın joined the traditional club MKE Ankaragucu. Ankaragucu borrowed Zafer Ozgültekin during the winter break in 2006 in Kayseri Erciyesspor. He then moved to the second division Eskişehirspor, due to problems with the board but he already went after half a year back to Ankaragucu.

National

Özgültekın played in the years 2002 and 2003 a total of five times for the Turkish national team. He took this at the Football World Cup in 2002 and finished third. During the tournament Özgültekın was behind the goalkeeper Rüştü Reçber un its replacement Ömer Çatkıç third-choice goalkeeper and came to no use.
