The Zagyva [ zɒɟvɒ ] is a western tributary of the Tisza River in Hungary. The river is the main river of the mountain Matra and Cserhát.

The Zagyva rises in Karancs Mountains on the southern slope of the mountain Medve east of Salgótarján about 600 m above sea level.
Fish species
The Zagyva is popular with anglers. The main fish species are, inter alia, pike, carp, chub, ide, catfish, Gängling, perch and tench.
