Zahir Howaida

Zahir Howaida (also Huwaida; persian ظاهر هويدا; born February 28, 1945 in Daikondi in the central Afghan Hazara area, † March 5, 2012 in Hamburg) was an Afghan singer, newscaster and a presenter at RTA, songwriter, poet and film actor.

His father, an employee was transferred from Kabul to Mazar- i -Sharif. There Zahir Howaida went on for some time on the Sultan Ghiasuddin Elementary School until his father at the age of 33 years died and the family returned to Kabul. Howaidas mother worked as a seamstress; Zahir to feed the family with can, as a kind of apprentice at different craftsmen. In addition, he attended the Lycee Isteqlal - in Kabul. In the 1960s, Zahir Howaida worked as a newscaster in the Afghan Radio ( RTA). In 1966, he traveled together with Babrak Wassa to Moscow to study at the city's Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

Zahir Howaida sang both folk and love songs as well as more demanding poems of Persian literature, such as Jalal ad-Din ar - Rumi. On various occasions he expressed his dismay about on the wave of refugees after the occupation of the country by the Soviet Union, with songs to express. Almost all of his songs are in Persian language, which renamed the regime of Zahir Shah in 1965 in Dari. Zahir Howaida, who starred in two films Nan ( "bread" ) and professor, died in 2012 of a serious illness. He was buried on 10 March 2012 on a Hamburg Cemetery. Renowned artists, singers, entered from around the world attended his funeral.
