Zalina Marghieva

Zalina Marghieva ( born February 5, 1988 in Vladikavkaz, Nordossetische ASSR ) is a Moldovan Hammer Throw.

As a junior Marghieva was at the World Youth Championships Fifth, at the IAAF World Junior Championships in 2006 she reached the fourth rank, and at the European Youth Championships she finished fifth. Later she participated in the 2008 Olympics, but where they did not reach the final. In 2009, she surpassed in Chisinau on January 31 with 71.56 m national record her older sister Marina Marghieva and won at the U23 European Championships gold medal. At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin, she was eliminated in the qualifying. Because of a positive doping test of the World Cup it was four years later, locked in September 2013, by the International Association of Athletics Federations ( IAAF). All results since the World Championships in Berlin were canceled retroactively.

Zalina Marghieva is coached by her father Soslan Marghiev, who was also formerly active as a hammer thrower. Her mother Alexandra Mititelu - Marghieva was 1984 Soviet champion in shot put and holds the world record in her age group.
