Zardab District

Zərdab ( Zardab ) is a rayon in the north of Azerbaijan. The capital of the district is the city Zərdab.

Geography

The district has an area of 856 km ² and is up to 11 m below sea level.

Population

In Rayon lived 2009 52.400 people. These are spread over 40 settlements.

Economy

The region is dominated by agriculture. It is cotton and corn grown and bred silkworms and livestock. Also, there is dairy and other food processing plants.
