Zaz (singer)
Zaz ( born May 1, 1980 in Tours as Isabelle Geffroy ) is a French nouvelle chanson singer who relies on stylistic devices of jazz singing.
Life

At the age of twenty years Zaz studied at the CIAM (Centre d'Information et d' Activités Musicales ) in Bordeaux and sang in the Latin rock band Don Diego. Highlight the common era was a performance at the Festival Musiques d' Angoulême Métisses. Later she sang in Paris in the ensemble of a cabaret named Les trois Maillets, with whom she was five hours a day on the stage.
After the time in the theater, she met the producer Kerredine Soltani know, with whom she wrote her hit song Je veux. During this time she also played and sang occasionally with two musician friends on the streets in the artists' quarter of Montmartre in Paris.
She sang in front of 10,000 spectators in the stadium in Hendaye, as an interpreter of Édith Piaf " greatest hits " sets in Siberia, with free concerts in Colombia's salt mines or on tour through Egypt.
In 2009 she won a surprise at the Talent competition Réservoir generation of France Bleu, which was held at the Paris Olympia. In contrast to all other participants Zaz had traveled without Fan and wowed the audience. Impressed by her performance, Raphaël Haroche decided to write three songs for them.
Their self-titled debut album Zaz took in spring 2010 in Quebec and France. It reached number one in the French album charts and stayed there for half a year. In addition to television appearances including among Chabada show on France 3, she performed at the Festival Montauban Alors Chante, the French Art Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at the Francofolies in La Rochelle and at the Festival Jazz Musette of Puces in Saint- Ouen. In the latter, together with Thomas Dutronc, Marcel Azzola and Maurane. In Germany, the debut album Zaz was released on May 10, 2010. It reached number three on the Media Control Charts and was awarded with 500,000 sales double platinum status. In the Echo Awards 2011, she was nominated in the category Newcomer of the Year (International). 2012 for a second time in the category artist International Rock / Pop.
In 2011 she was awarded with the European Border Breakers Award ( EBBA ).
On December 23, 2011 Sans Tsu Tsou live album appeared.
In the started on 9 February 2012 Hugo Cabret movie by Martin Scorsese Zaz sings the song in the end credits, " Coeur Volant ".
In the fall of 2012, they ascended together with a guitarist and a bassist Mont Blanc and played with them unplugged at the top and only in the presence of the accompanying guide.
On 10 May 2013, the second studio album Recto verso, whose first single, On ira was published in the German-speaking countries already on April 19, 2013 was published.
