Željko Perušić

Željko Perušić ( born March 23, 1936 in Duga Resa ) is a former Yugoslav football player and coach of Croatian origin. He lives in St. Gallen.

Career

Yugoslavia until 1965

With 14 years Perušić has played for the junior Duga Resa of. Since the season 1956/57, he competed in the premier league with Dinamo Zagreb and has twice won the Yugoslav Cup. In the round in 1957/58 of the running strong and loyal defensive midfielder also won the league title with Dinamo. The runner reached Perusic with Dinamo in the years 1960 and 1963, where he also was able to win the trophy each. He took with Dinamo also in the competitions of the European Cup in part: 1958/59 at the Masters, 1960/61 and 1963/64, in the cup winners, several times even on the Fairs Cup.

In his 27 missions in the national team's European Championship in 1960 and the Olympic Games stand out in the same year. In the quarter- finals of the European Championship he was in the two games against Portugal in use. On 8 May 1960 he lost in Lisbon with the plavi against the motion of Germano stopper and playmaker Mário Coluna host with 1:2 goals, but won on May 22, the second leg in Belgrade superior to 5-1 ports. The semi-finals led Perušić and his team-mates on July 6, 1960 in Paris against the hosts France.
