Zeni Geva

Zeni Geva is a Japanese noise rock band. She was the singer, guitarist and music producer KK later (actually Kazuyuki Kishino ) founded zero in 1987 in Tokyo as "progressive hardcore trio". Therefore, the band's music contains elements of different metal genres also borrows from noise rock, progressive rock and hardcore punk.

The name of the band is made up of the words " Zeni ", an ancient Japanese word for "money", and " Geva ", derived from the German word "violence", together.

Band History

Their studio albums have been produced since 1992 by Steve Albini, as well as the date last studio album from 2001 called 10,000 Lightyears. Albini worked partly as a guest musician on the early studio albums and in live performances with and brought the band from 1993 to 1995 with Jello Biafra's record label Alternative Tentacles below, whereby the tape subsequently learned more attention in the U.S..

After 2002, the band members pursued other projects for dedicated. So KK employed zero among other things with electronic music. Although published in 2004 still live album Last Nanosecond - Live in Geneva, this was, however, recorded in 2002. Apart from that was only the first CD of the band from 1990, Maximum Money Monster, with three additional live tracks from the time the CD, re-released; before 1990 only LPs and tapes were released.

In 2009, the band was finally revived in the occupation from 1990 with KK Null, Mitsuru Tabata and Tatsuya Yoshida and toured Japan and Europe. The following year, Alive and Rising ( Live) was then the first official release since Last Nanosecond the album, which was also recorded live in 2002. It contains material from concerts in Kyoto and Kobe from the September 2009. It was also the first record the band for 20 years, which was re- recorded with the founding member Tatsuya Yoshida on drums, was heard for the last time on Maximum Money Monster ( 1990). Yoshida was then responsible for the mixing and mastering of the recording material.

In April and May 2010, the band is on a tour of Europe, with among others four appearances in Germany.
