Zenith Magazine
Zenith - Journal of the Orient is an independent German magazine, which deals with the Arab- Islamic world.
The German -language magazine published bi-monthly and deals with issues of politics, economics, culture and the Middle East, North Africa Society, South and Central Asia and the Muslim world in general.
Editorial and economically independent Zenith from the German Levante Verlag GmbH was published in Berlin. Ideas and content of the magazine carrier is the club "forum zenith eV" in Hamburg, which has set itself the "promotion of a high quality international journalism" to the destination by its own account.
Editors are Moritz Behrendt, Marcel Mettelsiefen, Yasemin Ergin, Daniel Gerlach, Christian Meier, Veit Rasshofer and Jörg Schäffer.
History
The magazine was founded by students of Islamic Studies in Hamburg as a non-profit project in the summer of 1999. Meanwhile zenith has an extensive network of journalists and technical writers. The editor has, among other employees in Hamburg, Berlin, Beirut, Paris, London, Cairo, Dubai, Jakarta, Tel Aviv and several German cities.
Since 2010, published zenith economic magazine " zenith business report ", the background information and current developments in Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East economic analyzes. The English edition of the Business Reports appear as a separate publication.
In October 2012, a relaunch of the magazine was held zenith, since the addition falls " Journal of the Orient " away. In addition to the magazine publisher and editors produce the online platform on which current contributions to " zenith " issues are published.
Objectives, contents and structures
