Zenoss

Zenoss is an application based on the Zope application server network monitoring software that is licensed under the GNU General Public License. With their system administrators to monitor the availability and performance of servers and network devices via a web interface in the browser.

Erik Dahl began the Zenoss Development in 2002 and founded in 2005 the company Zenoss Inc., which funded the open source development and markets a commercial version of Zenoss.

Technology

  • Event management tools to annotate system alerts

The stack installer and the source code can be installed on other Linux and Unix systems.

ZenPacks

ZenPacks are a plug-in architecture that extend the core functionality of Zenoss. There are both ZenPacks the community as well as those that are only enterprise users are available (see below).

Enterprise

The Enterprise version includes in addition to the core version of commercial support and some features like "Synthetic Web Transactions " and " Global Dashboard ". According to Sean Michael Kerner is available for enterprise users and application monitor for Microsoft SQL Server and Exchange.
