Zentropa

Zentropa is a Danish film production company that produces both cinema and television films and series. Its headquarters and their studios are located in the Copenhagen suburb of Hvidovre. In addition, Zentropa include a number of subsidiaries in Europe.

With approximately 135 fixed and up to 450 freelancers Zentropa is the largest production company in Denmark.

Zentropa was founded in 1992 by director Lars von Trier and producer Peter Aalbæk Jensen and represents primarily independent films ago. Many of the films produced by Zentropa have won international awards and played a major role in the development of the Dogma 95 movement.

Zentropa produced, inter alia, Porn movies as Constance (1998), Pink Prison (1999), HotMen CoolBoyz (2000) and All About Anna ( 2005).

In 2008, the Egmont Foundation acquired a 50% stake in the company.
