Zernitz is a district of the city of Zerbst / Anhalt in the district of Anhalt- Bitterfeld, in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ).
Until December 31, 2009 Zernitz was an independent municipality with the associated hamlets Kuhberge and Strinum. On an area of 13.71 km ² community lived 252 inhabitants ( 31 December 2008). On 1 January 2010, the annexation was to Zerbst / Anhalt.
Geography
The Anhalt Zernitz village between the towns of Zerbst and Lindau is located at the confluence of the northern and central Nuthe that originate in the southwestern flaming. The terrain is mostly flat to Zernitz and falls to the south in the direction of Zerbst gradually.
From Zernitz cause road links to Lindau and Zerbst. In Zerbst seven kilometers away, there are train connections to Magdeburg and Dessau.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved on 11 August 1997, the regional council of Dessau and registered in the State Archives Magdeburg under the coat of arms registration number 58/1997.
Blazon: " Divided by silver and red; forward a black mill wheel at the split back a gold reinforced silver eagle at the gap. "
Half the mill wheel is symbolic of the old and the new mill of Zernitz. The half eagle is a reminder of the former belonging to the County of the town of Lindau.
The coat of arms was designed by the Heraldry Society "Black Lion " in Leipzig.
