Zhou Lulu

Zhou Lulu (Chinese周璐璐, Pinyin Zhou Lulu, born March 19, 1988 in Yantai in Shandong Province ) is a Chinese weightlifter. It was the London 2012 Olympic champion in the heavyweight division.

Career

Zhou Lulu was in 1999 at a talent search process discovered at her elementary school because they already then brought excellent physical requirements for weightlifting. This assessment proved to be absolutely correct, because over the years it grew into a great weightlifter. It is meanwhile military personnel and their coach is Jang Zhijun. At a height of 1.75 meters, it starts in the heavyweight division and brings about 135 kilos.

In 2009 she was Chinese champion in the heavyweight division and managed in this championship in the snatch with 148 kg world record, which was not recognized as such under the provisions of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF ), because world records can only be achieved at international championships.

In 2011 she finished second in Tongling at the Asian Championships with a duel capacity of 299 kg ( 142-158 ) 2nd place. In the same year she also won at the World Championships in Paris with 328 kg (146 -182 ) before Tatjana Kaschirina, Russia, 322 kg (147 -175 ) and Mariam Ushman, Nigeria, 273 kg (117 -156 ).

The greatest success in her career celebrated Zhou Lulu then at the Olympic Games 2012 in London. She won there in the heavyweight division with the new world record weight in a duel of 333 kg ( 146 -187 ) before Tatjana Kaschirina that to 332 kg ( 151 -181 ) came and gave her a big fight. The main reason for the victory of Zhou Lulu was her strength in pushing.

At the World Cup 2013 in Wroclaw Zhou Lulu got back to Tatjana Kaschirina. After tearing it led with 4 kg of lead. In thrusting, she managed 182 kg, but was clearly exceeded in this discipline by Tatjana Kaschirina with 190 kg, so they had to settle for this world championship with 2nd place in the duel. In tearing it was with 146 kg world champion.
