Zielona Góra Voivodeship (1975–98)

The Zielona Góra Voivodeship (Polish województwo Zielona Góra ) was a Polish province that existed from 1950 to 1975 and in a different form from 1975 to 1998. Their capital city was Zielona Góra ( Grünberg ).

When conducted on June 1, 1975 local government reform in Poland Powiats ( counties ) were abolished and the existing 17 provinces replaced by 49 voivodships smaller caliber. The new Zielona Góra Voivodeship mainly occupied the southern part of the old province of Zielona Góra.

With a further local government reform on 1 January 1999, the counties were re-introduced, reducing the number of voivodships to 16. The Zielona Góra Voivodeship went largely to the newly formed Lubusz Voivodeship, approximately equal to the old Province of Zielona Góra in the area.
